If you are looking for a healthier alternative to french fries, try a sweet potato or a squash. Just peel the vegetable of your choice and cut it in to thin strips. Spread the vegetable fries out on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle them with salt and cook them for half an hour at 350 degrees F. Tasty and good for you.
