October 30, 2009, Newsletter Issue #437: Squash Seeds

Tip of the Week

Squash seeds are like pumpkin seeds in that you can bake them and eat them for a snack. My daughter and I tried this the other day for the first time, and loved them. Rinse your squash seeds off and then pat them dry with some paper towels. Toss with one tbsp. of olive oil. Lay them flat on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and chili powder. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. Store in single serve snack baggies so you can just grab them and go.
